Walz Seeks Third Term as Governor | JQJO

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz announced his re-election bid for a third term in 2026. Walz, a Democrat who served as Kamala Harris's running mate in the 2024 presidential election, cited his commitment to Minnesota's success and the need for unity following recent violent incidents. His announcement comes amidst a special legislative session focused on gun control and as several Republican candidates have already entered the race. Walz's re-election bid follows his narrow 2024 victory and fuels speculation about a potential 2028 presidential run.
