US Launches Electric Air Taxi Program | JQJO

The Trump administration launched a three-year pilot program to accelerate electric air taxi development, aiming for US leadership in airspace technology. The Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) initiative involves partnerships with private companies and local governments to develop safety regulations and test both piloted and unmanned eVTOLs (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft). The program will include at least five projects, focusing on cargo delivery, emergency response, and eventually passenger transport, allowing pre-certification testing. Companies like Joby Aviation and Archer Aviation have already expressed interest.
