Chicago ICE Raids Spark Outrage | JQJO

Recent immigration enforcement operations in Chicago have sparked outrage among Latino leaders. An ICE officer fatally shot a man, Silverio Villegas-Gonzalez, who fled a traffic stop. Another man, Willian Gimenez, was arrested, prompting accusations of retaliation for his involvement in a lawsuit. Protests outside an ICE facility resulted in clashes between demonstrators and officers. The incidents have raised concerns about the targeting of Latino immigrants and the potential overreach of ICE, particularly in light of Operation Midway Blitz, aimed at undermining sanctuary city policies.
