Commanders running back Austin Ekeler suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon tear during Thursday's game against the Green Bay Packers. The injury occurred while running a route in the fourth quarter. Ekeler, who had a modest 43 rushing yards and 38 receiving yards this season, posted a thank you message on Instagram. Washington's backfield now relies on Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Jeremy McNichols, and Chris Rodriguez.
