Denmark Chooses SAMP/T Over US Patriot | JQJO

Denmark has selected the Franco-Italian SAMP/T air defense system over the US Patriot system, marking a significant win for France and a setback for the US. This decision, costing an estimated €7.7 billion, follows an assessment of operational, economic, and strategic factors. The choice is seen as a demonstration of Europe's willingness to diversify its defense procurement beyond the US, particularly in light of past tensions. Denmark will also consider NASAMS, IRIS-T, and VL MICA systems for medium-range defense.
