The UK has abruptly dismissed its ambassador to the US, Peter Mandelson, days before President Trump's state visit. Newly revealed emails show a close relationship between Mandelson and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, contradicting previous statements. The Foreign Office deemed Mandelson's connection to Epstein "materially different" than initially understood. This dismissal complicates UK-US relations ahead of Trump's arrival and follows criticism from opposition politicians. Mandelson's deputy, James Roscoe, will temporarily replace him.
