Plex experienced a security incident where an unauthorized third party accessed a limited subset of customer data, including emails, usernames, and securely hashed passwords. While passwords were hashed and credit card data was not compromised, Plex urges users to immediately reset their passwords via https://plex.tv/reset and enable sign-out of connected devices. The company has addressed the vulnerability and is implementing further security measures. Plex also recommends enabling two-factor authentication.
