Senate Probes Palisades Fire Preparedness | JQJO

Two Republican senators, Rick Scott and Ron Johnson, launched a congressional investigation into the preparedness for the deadly Palisades fire in California. The investigation will focus on the adequacy of emergency preparations, particularly water resources, after reports revealed the Santa Ynez Reservoir was empty during the fire. This probe follows other investigations into the fire's cause and response, and comes eight months after the January fire that killed 12 and devastated Pacific Palisades. While some criticize the city's response, others maintain the conditions were unprecedented. Governor Newsom welcomes the additional review.
