Five Eyes Tackle Migrant Smuggling | JQJO

Five Eyes intelligence partners—the U.K., U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand—met in London to discuss border security and combatting migrant smuggling. The meeting, hosted by UK Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood, focused on strengthening collaborative efforts against criminal gangs involved in people smuggling, child sexual abuse, and opioid trafficking. Despite differing approaches to migration, the nations aim to implement new measures to protect borders and crack down on human trafficking. The UK is grappling with a significant increase in Channel crossings and faces pressure to adopt stricter immigration policies.
