President Trump believes Democrat Zohran Mamdani is likely to win the New York City mayoral race unless two other candidates drop out. Trump hasn't specified which candidates he wants to withdraw, but reportedly reached out to Mayor Eric Adams to discuss a potential federal job. Adams, however, has refused to quit the race, despite pressure from former Governor Cuomo and growing calls for his withdrawal. Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa also intends to remain in the race. Mamdani, a Democratic Socialist, currently holds a lead in the polls.
