A California cat died after consuming a batch of RAWR Raw Cat Food Chicken Eats sliders contaminated with H5N1 avian influenza. The FDA confirmed the virus in the affected lots (CCS 25 077 and CCS 25 093) after testing. While RAWR has removed the implicated batches, no recall has been issued. The FDA advises pet owners to seek veterinary care if their pets show flu symptoms and to practice good hygiene when handling raw pet food. No human cases linked to the contaminated food have been reported.
