A federal judge blocked the Trump administration's attempt to end temporary protected status (TPS) for over 1 million Haitians and Venezuelans. Judge Edward Chen ruled the administration's actions were arbitrary and capricious, citing dangerous conditions in both countries. The ruling protects approximately 600,000 Venezuelans and 500,000 Haitians from deportation and allows them to continue working in the U.S. The Department of Homeland Security plans to appeal the decision.
