Louisiana's Angola State Penitentiary, previously nicknamed "Camp 47" in apparent honor of Donald Trump (the 47th president), has been renamed "Camp 57." The infamous prison camp, notorious for its appalling conditions and security failures, was briefly closed but reopened by ICE to house detained migrants. The rebranding follows revelations of the camp's horrific past, including suicides and staff resignations. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, alongside other officials, touted the facility's expansion, stating it will hold "some of the worst of the worst" criminal migrants and promote "self-deportation."
