Congresswoman Indicted? Will She Lose Her Seat? | JQJO

Rep. LaMonica McIver, a New Jersey Democrat, faces a House vote to censure her and remove her from the Homeland Security Committee. This follows her indictment on charges of assaulting federal officers during a visit to an immigration detention facility. McIver claims the charges are politically motivated, arguing she was conducting oversight. Republicans say her continued committee service presents a conflict of interest. The House has a history of censuring members, with a significant increase in recent years. McIver defiantly stated she won't be intimidated.
