Apple is reportedly removing physical SIM card trays from more iPhones this year, starting potentially with the iPhone 17 series. Retail employees in the EU are undergoing eSIM training, suggesting a wider rollout. While the US already uses eSIMs exclusively on iPhone 14 and later models, Apple may make this change internationally, excluding some countries like China. The shift is promoted as more secure and convenient, allowing for multiple eSIMs on a single device.
