Michigan and Oklahoma started their seasons with wins, but both teams had areas for improvement. Oklahoma, despite a strong passing game by John Mateer, struggled on the ground in their 35-3 victory over Illinois State. Michigan, led by freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood, defeated New Mexico 34-17, but their performance didn't meet expectations. Both teams showed potential but need to address inconsistencies before their upcoming clash, a highly anticipated matchup.
