Germany is significantly increasing its arms production, opening Europe's largest munitions factory. Defense Minister Boris Pistorius highlighted this new plant's importance in aiding Ukraine and strengthening NATO. The factory will produce 350,000 rounds of ammunition annually from 2027. Germany is also exploring further arms production in Eastern and Southeastern Europe. While considering the possibility of reinstating military conscription if recruitment targets aren't met, Pistorius expressed optimism about current recruitment trends. The minister remained tight-lipped about supplying Taurus missiles to Ukraine.
