The New England Patriots surprisingly released their 2022 first-round draft pick, Cole Strange, despite initial starting position. Strange, a guard, lost his starting role after a week of training camp and struggled with a past knee injury. Other roster cuts included wide receiver Ja'Lynn Polk (injured reserve), linebacker Jahlani Tavai (injured reserve, but eligible to return), and fifth-round pick Bradyn Swinson. The Patriots kept nine offensive linemen, including 2024 third-round pick Caedan Wallace. The team also received trade offers for safety Kyle Dugger, but salary concerns hindered any deal. Further roster moves are anticipated.
