Spotify launched a new in-app messaging feature, allowing users to chat with others they've shared content with. Initially available for one-on-one conversations on mobile in select Latin and South American markets, it's expanding to more regions soon. The feature complements existing content sharing outside the app and aims to boost user interaction. Messages are encrypted but not end-to-end, with Spotify monitoring for rule violations. While designed to enhance social features, the addition might annoy users already finding the app cluttered; thankfully, it's disableable in settings.
