Is This Ancient Cat REALLY Hiding in Plain Sight?

The Pallas's cat, or manul, is a unique feline inhabiting Central Asia's grasslands. This ancient cat, diverging from leopards 5.2 million years ago, is surprisingly small despite its thick fur, crucial for surviving freezing temperatures. A solitary and secretive ambush predator, it hunts small rodents at dusk and dawn. Its incredible camouflage, including mottled fur and low-set ears, makes it almost invisible. Unlike other cats, it has round pupils and yips like a dog. Living 8-9 years, it marks a surprisingly large territory.
