Maine Veteran Launches Senate Bid Against Collins | JQJO

Army and Marine veteran Graham Platner launched his Democratic campaign for the U.S. Senate in Maine on Tuesday. He'll challenge Republican incumbent Susan Collins, focusing on universal healthcare, affordable housing, and ending foreign wars. Platner, an oyster farmer, criticizes the military-industrial complex and aims to appeal to working-class voters. He joins a growing primary field, including Jordan Wood and David Costello, while Gov. Janet Mills may also run. Collins, despite Maine leaning Democratic, remains a formidable opponent, having won her last election by a significant margin.
