Syracuse named Notre Dame transfer Steve Angeli their starting quarterback. He beat out LSU transfer Rickie Collins for the position. Angeli will make his debut against No. 24 Tennessee in Atlanta. The redshirt junior brings experience from 21 games at Notre Dame, including a start in the Sun Bowl. Syracuse, coming off a 10-3 season and leading the nation in passing offense, hopes Angeli can continue their offensive success. He'll face his former team, Notre Dame, later in the season.
