President Trump announced plans to eliminate mail-in ballots and voting machines, citing concerns about accuracy and expense. He claims Russian President Putin confirmed mail-in ballots led to his 2020 defeat, although this is disputed. Trump's previous executive orders on mail-in ballots faced legal challenges. His latest move is part of a broader effort to reshape election procedures, despite constitutional limitations on presidential authority in this area. He plans further executive actions before the 2026 midterms.
