The Minnesota Vikings' preseason game against the New England Patriots highlighted a competition for the backup quarterback position. Max Brosmer impressed coaches with his decision-making and accuracy, despite modest statistics. Sam Howell, however, struggled, raising concerns about his consistency. Other key takeaways include the strong performance of rookie defensive tackle Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins, the improved screen game, and the punting competition between Oscar Chapman and Ryan Wright. The Vikings' returner situation remains a concern, with several players struggling to secure the role. The team's receiving corps also faces depth issues following Jordan Addison's suspension and Jalen Nailor's injury.
