4th person dies after a Legionnaires’ disease outbreak sickens dozens in New York

New York City health officials reported a fourth death linked to a Legionnaires' disease outbreak in Central Harlem. The outbreak, which began in late July, has sickened dozens and hospitalized seventeen. The bacteria were found in twelve cooling towers across ten buildings, including city-run facilities. Remediation efforts are underway, and new cases are declining, indicating containment of the source. Health officials urge residents to seek medical attention for flu-like symptoms.
