Argentina Fentanyl Contamination Kills Dozens

At least 96 deaths in Argentina are linked to contaminated fentanyl. The initial death toll of 87 has risen as investigations continue. The contaminated fentanyl, traced to HLB Pharma, contained bacteria including Klebsiella pneumoniae and Ralstonia pickettii, some resistant to multiple antibiotics. Over 300,000 contaminated ampoules were distributed before recall. While the company denies responsibility, 24 individuals involved are under investigation, with travel bans and asset freezes in place. The scale of this tragedy is unprecedented in Argentina.
