Ford Invests Billions in Kentucky EV Plant

Ford will invest nearly $2 billion to retool its Louisville, Kentucky, plant for electric vehicle (EV) production, aiming for more affordable and profitable EVs to compete with rivals. The plant, operating for 70 years, will produce a midsize electric pickup truck starting in 2027. This initiative, described as a "Model T moment", involves a new platform and production system to reduce costs and assembly time. The investment secures 2,200 jobs and is part of a larger $5 billion investment creating almost 4,000 jobs across Kentucky and Michigan.
