Hollywood Directors Expelled for Strike Violation | JQJO

Directors Park Chan-wook and Don McKellar, known for their work on HBO's "The Sympathizer," have been expelled from the Writers Guild of America West (WGAW) for violating strike rules. They wrote for the miniseries during the 2023 WGA strike. The WGAW announced the expulsions, stating that three other members faced disciplinary action, with one suspended. This expulsion is the harshest penalty the Guild can impose, impacting their ability to work with major studios. The WGAW has concluded all strike-related disciplinary actions.
