Ground stop halts all United Airlines flights in Chicago, other hubs

A technology problem caused a ground stop for all United Airlines flights to Chicago and other major US hubs on Wednesday evening. The outage, unrelated to cybersecurity, began around 5 p.m. and affected systems handling flight information, weight calculations, and flight times. By 8:45 p.m., O'Hare departures were delayed by an average of two hours. United resolved the issue around 9 p.m., but residual delays were expected. The airline assured passengers they were working to get everyone to their destinations.
