Langeliers' Historic Game Leads A's to Victory | JQJO

Oakland A's catcher Shea Langeliers had a historic game, going 5-for-6 with three home runs in a 16-7 win over the Washington Nationals. This was his first career start as a leadoff hitter, a move A's manager Mark Kotsay hoped would spark the team. Langeliers' performance tied a catcher's record for total bases in a single game and marked several other milestones, including becoming the second catcher to ever hit three home runs leading off. Despite the A's overall struggles, Langeliers' breakout season highlights their young, promising talent.
