Naked Gun Reboot: Strong Opening, Musk-Coded Villain | JQJO

The "Naked Gun" reboot, starring Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson, opened strongly. Writers Dan Gregor and Doug Mand discussed the film's numerous references to the original movies, including a subtle nod to O.J. Simpson and an Elon Musk-inspired villain. They addressed fan concerns about potentially offending Musk, explaining the villain was intended as a representation of various problematic billionaires. The writers also touched upon the film's cameos, including Weird Al Yankovic and Priscilla Presley, and hinted at potential future sequels, fueled by the strong chemistry between Neeson and Anderson. Gregor and Mand emphasized their goal to update the franchise while honoring its legacy.
