Celtics Reportedly Trade Georges Niang, NBA Draft Picks to Jazz for RJ Luis Jr.

The Boston Celtics traded forward Georges Niang and two second-round picks to the Utah Jazz in exchange for rookie guard RJ Luis Jr. This move significantly reduced the Celtics' luxury tax bill, dropping it from $73.1 million to $30.4 million. Boston then signed Chris Boucher to a one-year, $3.3 million deal. The Celtics' general manager, Brad Stevens, previously stated a goal of getting below the second apron, which these moves accomplished. Luis will fill a two-way contract spot.
