Following the Paramount-Skydance merger, Paramount TV Studios, headed by Dana Goldberg and Matt Thunell, will absorb most scripted production, excluding South Park. South Park, due to its linear cable presence on Comedy Central and streaming success on Paramount+, will remain under George Cheeks, Chair of TV Media. This split aligns production with distribution: Goldberg's studio focuses on streaming, while Cheeks' oversees linear networks. Cheeks will now oversee South Park, The Daily Show, and the recently departed The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, all known for their criticism of Donald Trump.
