Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer thwarted President Trump's attempt to confirm cabinet nominees before the Senate recess. Schumer successfully blocked billions in foreign aid cuts, prompting Trump to accuse him of "political extortion." Schumer celebrated his victory on social media, while Trump urged Republicans to reject Schumer's demands. The stalemate may lead to rule changes regarding nominee confirmation time.
