US citizens, victims of Hamas and Hezbollah attacks, are suing UNRWA, the UN's Palestinian refugee agency, in a US federal court. The lawsuit alleges UNRWA aided and enabled the terror groups, violating antiterrorism laws and promoting anti-Israel sentiment. This follows a US Department of Justice decision lifting UNRWA's immunity from US lawsuits. A similar lawsuit is already underway in New York. The plaintiffs contend UNRWA's actions contradict its mandate to promote peace and coexistence. UNRWA, established in 1949, provides aid to millions of Palestinians.
