Microsoft is ending support for Windows 11 SE in October 2026. This education-focused OS, designed to rival Chromebooks, will receive no further updates or security patches after that date. Microsoft recommends users transition to other Windows 11 editions. The decision comes despite recent claims of declining Chromebook market share. Several manufacturers produced Windows 11 SE laptops, including Microsoft's own Surface Laptop SE.
