Naked Gun Reboot Satirizes Modern Policing | JQJO

A new "Naked Gun" film, directed by Akiva Schaffer, reboots the franchise by updating its core joke about police incompetence for a contemporary audience. While the original films' humor sometimes veered into problematic territory, the reboot cleverly satirizes both police inefficiency and brutality, addressing contemporary concerns about policing in America. The film maintains the series' signature slapstick and sight gags while offering a sharp commentary on the portrayal of law enforcement in media. Liam Neeson stars as Frank Drebin Jr., continuing the tradition of bumbling police officers.
