Slotkin Misses Israel Arms Vote for Colbert Appearance | JQJO

Michigan Senator Elissa Slotkin missed Senate votes, including two on arms sales to Israel, while appearing on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert'. This occurred during a heated debate within the Democratic Party regarding the issue. The Senate ultimately rejected resolutions to block the sales, though a significant number of Democrats supported the measure. Slotkin's office stated she was disappointed to miss the vote and that she supports getting humanitarian aid into Gaza. Rep. Rashida Tlaib criticized senators who voted against the resolution or were absent.
