NISAR Satellite Launches for Earth Observation

The NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) satellite, a joint U.S.-India project, is set to launch on July 30th. Aboard a GSLV rocket, NISAR will orbit Earth, studying land, ice, and ocean surfaces for at least five years. Utilizing synthetic aperture radar, it will gather data regardless of weather. The satellite's primary objective is to study land and ice deformation, ecosystems, and oceanic regions, furthering scientific understanding in areas of mutual interest to both nations. The launch will mark the 18th flight for the GSLV rocket.
