Palestinian teacher Awdah Al-Hathaleen, previously denied US entry, was shot and killed in the West Bank in an altercation with an Israeli settler. Al-Hathaleen, a resident of Umm Al-Khair, a village featured in the Oscar-winning documentary "No Other Land," had recently attempted to visit San Francisco to speak about his experiences. His death was confirmed by family and journalists, including Yuval Abraham, co-director of the documentary. While the shooter remains unconfirmed, witnesses reported an Israeli settler brandishing a weapon before the incident. Al-Hathaleen's US visa was revoked upon arrival in June.
