All-Star Game ends in historic home run swing-off as Schwarber clinches NL victory

The National League defeated the American League 4-3 in a dramatic All-Star Game swing-off after a 6-6 tie. This new format, implemented in 2022 to address pitcher limitations, involved three batters from each team taking three swings each. Kyle Schwarber, hitting three homers, was named MVP, becoming the first non-pitcher MVP without a hit in the regular game. The AL mounted a late comeback, tying the game in the ninth before the swing-off decided the victor. Manager Aaron Boone suggested the swing-off format could potentially be used in regular season games in the future.
