Ukraine is scaling up its defense against Russia's massive drone attacks. The Defense Procurement Agency has signed contracts for tens of thousands of interceptor drones, primarily inexpensive, rapidly-produced models costing around $1,000-$5,000. These drones, along with existing air defense systems like Patriot missiles, aim to counter the overwhelming number of Iranian-made Shahed drones launched by Russia. While Patriot missiles address larger threats, the affordable interceptor drones are crucial for handling the sheer volume of Shahed attacks, aiming to restore interception rates to previous highs.
