Nvidia is issuing a performance-reducing mitigation (up to 10%) for its RTX A6000 GPUs to counter the newly discovered GPUhammer exploit. Researchers demonstrated this Rowhammer-based attack, which targets GPU memory, causing data corruption. The attack, impacting high-performance computing and AI applications, can severely degrade model accuracy, even rendering some unusable. While the exploit was demonstrated on the A6000, it potentially affects other Nvidia GPUs.
