Boeing Fuel Switches Safe After Fatal Air India Crash

Following a fatal Air India Boeing 787-8 crash in June that killed 260, a preliminary report highlighted concerns about fuel switches. The report indicated the switches were in the 'cut-off' position shortly after takeoff. The FAA, while acknowledging a 2018 advisory suggesting inspections of these switches, stated that it doesn't consider the issue unsafe and won't issue an Airworthiness Directive. Air India's CEO cautioned against premature conclusions.
