Thompson's Huge Zagreb Concert Sparks Controversy

Right-wing Croatian singer Marko Perkovic, known as Thompson, drew tens of thousands to a massive Zagreb concert, the largest in Croatian history. Despite past controversies and bans in some European cities due to perceived pro-Nazi sympathies, Thompson remains hugely popular in Croatia. Authorities deployed extensive security measures, including snipers and helicopters, anticipating a major security challenge. While some attendees praised Thompson as a patriot, critics like former Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor condemned the event, highlighting its potential for nationalist displays and referencing the Ustasha regime's atrocities during WWII. Some fans were seen performing the Ustasha salute, a legally punishable act in Croatia.
