Lindor's All-Star Start Ends Mets Drought

Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor, named an All-Star starter for the first time since 2019, broke out of a slump with a three-hit, three-RBI performance in a win against the Brewers. This is Lindor's fifth All-Star appearance and his first start. His selection ends a six-year drought for Mets shortstops in the starting lineup, with the last being Jose Reyes in 2011. Lindor expressed gratitude to fans and teammates for his achievement. Other Mets players, like Pete Alonso and Juan Soto, are expected to be selected as reserves.
