Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw becomes 20th member of MLB's 3,000-strikeout club

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw achieved his 3,000th career strikeout on Wednesday against the Chicago White Sox, joining an elite MLB club. The milestone came in the sixth inning against Vinny Capra, making Kershaw the 20th member of the 3,000-strikeout club, a list including several Hall of Famers and active stars like Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer. Despite a less-than-perfect game statistically, Kershaw received a standing ovation from Dodger Stadium, celebrating the accomplishment with his team's subsequent walk-off victory. Kershaw's achievement is particularly noteworthy as he's only the third pitcher to reach 3,000 strikeouts with a single team.
