Adriana Smith, a 31-year-old Georgia nurse declared brain dead in February, was laid to rest on June 28th. She was kept on life support until her son, Chance, was delivered prematurely on June 13th via C-section due to Georgia's LIFE Act. Chance, weighing 1 pound 13 ounces, remains in the NICU. Smith's funeral was attended by family, community members, and representatives of the Atlanta Metropolitan Nursing Honor Guard, who paid tribute to her selfless service. Her sister spoke of her kindness and love for family.
