Researchers have identified carnosic acid, a compound in rosemary and sage, as potentially beneficial in treating Alzheimer's disease. Studies on mice showed improved neuron function and memory, reducing inflammation caused by existing Alzheimer's therapies. However, experts caution that consuming rosemary and sage won't replicate these effects, which were achieved using a synthesized drug form of carnosic acid. Human trials are needed to validate these promising pre-clinical findings before recommending carnosic acid for Alzheimer's prevention or treatment.
