Raptors’ Masai Ujiri out as vice chairman and president after 12 years

Masai Ujiri, president and vice chairman of the Toronto Raptors, is leaving the team after 13 seasons. Ujiri, who led the Raptors to their 2019 NBA championship, had one year remaining on his contract. The team announced it has agreed to extensions with other front office members and will begin a search for a new executive. MLSE cited a change in ownership structure and recent team performance as contributing factors to the decision. While Ujiri's tenure included a championship and memorable moments, the Raptors have struggled recently, leading to a parting of ways.
